Three killed as storm lashes central Japan

Hundreds have been with out operating water and energy in central Japan on Sunday after a storm dumped file rains on the area, triggering floods and landslides, and leaving no less than three useless.

The storm, named Talas, battered central Japan on Friday and Saturday because it swept by simply off the Pacific coast, dumping greater than 400 mm of rain in a 24-hour interval in communities in Shizuoka Prefecture, in response to the Meteorological Company.
